Homes for Ukraine

For more information, the Welsh government's Ukraine helpline is now live for advice, help, and support. You can call:

Advice is available in both English and Ukrainian.

School hubs

Our Ukrainian hub schools are Llanwern High School and Milton Primary School.

The hub provision allows Ukrainian children, young people, and families to come together. It hopes to reduce pupils’ feelings of isolation from other Ukrainian children and young people during this difficult time.

Other benefits of a Ukrainian Education Hub include:

  • supporting families to settle in Newport
  • providing specialist and targeted support, including language acquisition support
  • support from the Gwent Ethnic Minority Service (GEMS)
  • additional teaching and learning resources, including through the Ukrainian language
  • providing support for effective cross-phase transition between the two cluster schools
